Energy Conservation[]

&nbsp A growing number of consumers are becoming more aware of their food's carbon footprint. Typically buying locally harvested seafood will significantly reduce ones carbon footpring as there are usually fewer steps involved in processing the product and it doesn't have to travel as far to reach the consumer.

Sustainability[]

Fishermen are required to follow strict federal and state laws that help protect the long term stability of domestic fisheries. The majority of fish and shellfish caught in U.S. waters are harvested under Fishery Management Plans that meet national standards to guarantee that healthy fisheries are maintained and overfishing is eliminated. State and local regulations also add protection to make certain that fisheries remain stable into the future, ensuring that seafood will be around for many generations to come.
